About
You’d think that with something so necessary as food, well, we humans would have figured out how to deal with it sometime in the past 20,000 years or so. But apparently not. Just look around. We are obsessed and repelled; obese and anorexic, overfed and malnourished. And we’ve filled our heads with so many shards of information about nutrition that we cannot tell good science from potentially harmful myth.
I am interested in people’s stories about their relationship to food. What it was like growing up. (I say that in my husband’s house Cheeze Whiz was a vegetable. It’s a miracle that he is now a great cook.) How do you deal with food in your life now? What do you want to know about food? What hair-brained theories are you absolutely convinced are true about food? (And come on, you may believe them but you do know they are little odd.)
I hope to explore our relationship to food– and discover the best and latest nutritional information on appetite, weight control, fat and fat cells, the mind/body connection to food and to weight management, insights from psychologists/psychiatrists and glorious recipes.
